Information for interested Partner Schools

Your school will receive individual consultation on an implementation plan
Your school will receive data about the impact of digital citizenship lessons on your students.
You will be contributing to a body of knowledge that benefits students and supports their digital lives.
The study will help to understand how the curriculum is implemented in schools, what barriers educators face, and how the curriculum influences the development of students' digital citizenship knowledge, attitudes, and behavior.
The study will take place starting fall of 2022 for a duration of 6-8 weeks.
Public schools that serve students in grades 6 and who are not already implementing the Digital Citizenship curriculum in 6th grade are eligible to participate.
What will participants be asked to do?
Teachers will be asked to attend a one-hour self-paced online curriculum training, implement 6 lessons over a specified 6-week period, share associated take-home DC resources with families, and will be invited to participate in interviews about their experience. Students in participating classrooms will complete two online assessments over the course of the study and are invited to participate in focus groups about their experiences.
RAND will also observe some participating classrooms. With the ongoing uncertainty of school safety guidelines due to COVID-19, we will conduct all interviews, focus groups, and observations virtually. We intend to keep school, teacher and student identities private; on request, schools can receive an acknowledgment of participation in the final report.
