Please note that when you officially start your internship, you will need to submit weekly timesheets that detail your working hours. It is your responsibility to submit your completed timesheets on time. Accurate timesheets are required for you to be paid. Timesheet instructions are shared below.
Unsubsidized Interns (Paid Directly by Employer):
Please ensure that you are reading and responding to all employer emails. Your employer will inform you how to enter hours, how you will be getting paid, and all other necessary information.
***Later in the season, once you have submitted timesheets and received pay stubs from your employer, you will need to upload either your pay stubs or your timesheets to us
Step 3: Timesheet and Payroll Instructions (Starting in July)
Only for participants whose internship is being paid by L4L.
Subsidized Interns (Paid by L4L):
When you begin your internship, you will need to submit weekly timesheets detailing your working hours, which should total 25 hours each week. It is your responsibility to submit your completed timesheets on time. Accurate timesheets are required for you to be paid.
***You will only be able to access your timesheets after you are enrolled.
IMPORTANT:
Hour entry for participants is from Wednesday to Saturday.
Worksite approval is on Sunday and Monday.
*** Please note that your supervisors have received their login information to a separate portal for timesheet approval.
No hours can be entered after Saturday therefore if you didn't get a chance to enter your hours, you must email the L4L team by Monday at 9:00 am at the latest.
After five (5) hours worked, participants must take at least a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, and after seven
(7) hours worked, participants must take at least a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Be sure to manage your participants’ work schedules accordingly.
Participants are limited to 25 hours a week, maximum.
Participants must sign in and out daily. Times must be rounded up to quarter-hour increments. (E.g., if you start work at 8:42, your starting time should be 8:45.)
Again, it is YOUR responsibility to submit your completed timesheets on time. Failure to enter your time by the deadline will result in a delayed payment.
Please watch the Time Entry Video which explains the timesheet entry process. We strongly suggest you watch the full video to familiarize yourself with the system and avoid confusion.
*** Please note that while the video refers to SYEP, it applies to all Ladders for Leaders applicants. L4L falls under the SYEP umbrella and we are utilizing the SAME system
DO NOT contact your worksite supervisor about any timesheet or payroll questions.
