What's Next?
Step 1: L4L Orientation Below are instructions on how to access and participate in the mandatory L4L Orientation. The orientation will provide more insight into our program process and include resume-building workshops, job interview skills, networking skills, leadership development, and mock interviews.
Please Note: that this year parts of the L4L Orientation will be conducted synchronously and parts will be conducted asynchronously. The next steps will be shared within the next few weeks.

Pre-Internship Series
Welcome to the L4L 2025 Asynchronous Orientation! This orientation is designed to provide you with essential information, resources, and tools to help you succeed. Engage with the materials, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Let’s embark on this journey together!
*All Orientation sections (A, B, and C) are required for all L4L participants regardless of prior participation or alumni status.
Participation Requirements:
Section A:
All selected applicants must complete the requirements in Section A to begin receiving job blasts.
To receive credit, you must average at least 80%.
This section also includes registering for a mandatory synchronous orientation session.
Complete this step first as availability for these sessions is limited.
Please DO NOT email us once you've completed section A. We will review responses on a rolling basis and will share next steps accordingly. We appreciate your patience.
Section B:
This section may be completed after you start receiving job blasts.
However, it must be finished within two weeks of being selected to participate in L4L.
To receive credit, you must average at least 80%.

Section C:
Choose 4 optional topics to complete.
Each workshop topic is paired with a quiz.
To receive credit, you must average at least 80%.
Synchronous Orientation Session:
Attending a synchronous session is Mandatory!
Synchronous sessions are between 3 and 3.5 hours and will cover a range of topics to prepare you for your job search.
Please note that completion of all 4 sections is mandatory for all L4L participants. Failure to complete any of the requirements may result in removal from the program.

These modules must be completed within 2 weeks of being shared. Participants will not begin to receive job blasts until after they've completed all four of the below modules:

This will be graded once you've registered for and committed to attending a synchronous orientation session
To gain credit for the module, you must average at least 80% on the accompanying quizzes.

**Once you have completed the requirements, the L4L Team will review your submissions. After they are scored, Section B will be shared with you.
Section C includes 10 optional workshops. You must complete 4 of the below topics to gain credit for Section C. They may be completed after you start receiving job blasts but must be finished within two months of being selected to participate in L4L. To gain credit for the assignment, you must average at least 80% on the accompanying quizzes.

While it is not required, we do encourage you to review the additional workshops as they are good resources for any professional entering the workplace.
As a part of Section A, you will need to register for a synchronous orientation session via Calendly. Please note that each session has a limited number of seats, so it is highly recommended to register as soon as possible to secure your spot.

At the top select "Classwork" to begin reviewing the modules and the assignments.
You have two weeks from the date you receive the instructions to complete the Google Classroom assignments and quiz.
Remember: Failure to submit tasks and quizzes may jeopardize your participation in Ladders for Leaders; you may not be able to receive the employment opportunities.

No. Expressing interest doesn't mean your resume was referred. We review each resume and determine whether you are the best fit for that position. Due to the high volume of applications for positions, our Job Placement Specialists identify best-fit candidates for each position. If we feel you are a good fit your resume will be referred and you will be notified via email.

If the company decides to move forward with your application, you will schedule a Video/Phone Interview
If you hear directly from the company, reply to their email, then notify the L4L team

L4L will inform you if your resume is released. If you're released by the employer you should email L4L@commonppoint.org to update us on your application status.

While we will not 'force' you to pursue any opportunity you aren't interested in, it is crucial to make a commitment and assess your interest before expressing interest. By the time you reach the interview stage and receive a job offer, there should be some certainty that you will accept the offer if extended. It is your responsibility to thoroughly research the company and review the location before expressing interest
We cannot guarantee that you will be referred to another opportunity or receive another offer if you decide to decline an offer of employment.

As a participant of Ladders for Leaders (L4L), it is essential to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a successful experience for all parties involved:
Prompt Communication:
Respond to phone calls, emails, and messages from L4L staff, employers, and colleagues within 24 hours.
Maintain availability during regular business hours (or as agreed upon with your employer) to address any urgent communication.
Inform the L4L team of any updates to your availability or contact information (such as a new phone number or email), or if you are no longer interested or available for the program.
Professionalism in All Communication:
Use professional language and tone in all forms of communication, including emails, phone calls, and video meetings.
Refrain from using slang, emojis, or informal expressions in professional exchanges.
Program Participation
Attend all required workshops and training sessions.
If you need to be absent, inform the program coordinators in advance to ensure proper communication and planning.
Commitment to Opportunities:
Once you submit interest or accept an opportunity, you are expected to follow through with your commitment.
If unforeseen circumstances arise that prevent you from fulfilling your commitment, it is your responsibility to notify the L4L team immediately.
Proactive Approach to Questions:
If you have any questions or concerns about your role or responsibilities, contact the L4L team for guidance before reaching out to the employer.
Utilize the resources provided by L4L to ensure you are fully prepared for your internship.
Positive Attitude
Approach each opportunity with a positive, open-minded mindset, ready to embrace challenges and learn new skills.
Show enthusiasm for your role and demonstrate a willingness to actively engage with both team members and supervisors.
By adhering to this code of conduct, you will demonstrate professionalism and responsibility, ensuring a positive and productive experience for both yourself and the organizations you work with. Failure to adhere to these policies may result in dismissal from the L4L Program.
As a Ladders for Leaders Intern, you are expected to follow the guidelines below to maintain a respectful, professional, and productive environment during the program experience. These standards are put in place to ensure mutual respect and responsibility between you, your supervisors, and your colleagues.
1. Discrimination
You must respect all individuals and avoid any form of discrimination including those based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. Treating others fairly and equally is a fundamental expectation as an L4L participant.
2. Sexual Harassment
You are expected to maintain professional conduct and must avoid any form of sexual harassment. This includes making unwanted sexual advances, inappropriate remarks, or physical contact of a sexual nature. Your behavior should always contribute to a comfortable and respectful environment.
3. Hostile Environment
Creating or contributing to a hostile environment is not acceptable. This includes making offensive comments, and jokes, or engaging in behaviors that target an individual or group based on protected characteristics (such as race, gender, or religion). Respect and professionalism are key.
4. Engagement in Illegal Activities
As a participant, you must refrain from engaging in any illegal activities during your internship. Any involvement in illegal or unethical behavior can result in termination from the program.
5. Accuracy and Honesty
You are expected to complete all tasks with integrity. Falsifying documents, data, or reports is strictly prohibited. Always ensure that your work is honest and transparent.
6. Conflict of Interest
Avoid engaging in any activities that could create a conflict of interest with your internship. This includes situations where personal interests may interfere with your ability to perform your duties ethically and professionally.
7. Protection of Personal Information
Respect the privacy of your colleagues and supervisors. You should not inquire into or misuse personal information about others, such as medical history, financial status, or personal relationships. Always maintain confidentiality.
8. Communication and Timely Responses
Clear and prompt communication is vital in the workplace. You are expected to respond to emails, messages, and other communications from your supervisors and colleagues on time. Staying responsive helps maintain a smooth workflow and ensures projects are completed efficiently.
9. Reporting Concerns
If you encounter or witness any inappropriate behavior, unsafe conditions, or violations of this code of conduct, you are encouraged to report them immediately to the Ladders for Leaders or the SYEP team. Your safety and well-being are priorities, and we will take all reports seriously.
10. Support and Resolution
The L4L team is committed to addressing all concerns, no matter how minor they may seem. By reporting issues, you help ensure a positive and supportive internship experience for yourself and others. We will work with you to resolve any problems and provide the necessary guidance.
