Vet clinics can be scary and overwhelming for our pets, and sometimes even us. A bumpy car ride can be stressful and painful for an animal that is terminally ill or suffering from the effects of old age. Dr. Beckett provides mobile euthanasia services so that your last moments with your beloved pet can be spent in the privacy of your own home where you and your pet feel most comfortable and safe.
When an owner hears a terminal diagnosis for their pet, the first question is often "What can we do to keep them comfortable?" This is precisely what hospice care is meant to do, the goal shifts from trying to cure the incurable to making sure the time they have left is not spent in pain and discomfort. Dr. Beckett will come to your home and evaluate your pet, discuss their needs and yours, and work with you to create a plan that supports your pet and the whole family.
Hospice visits usually last 2-3 hours. Plans for pain control, appetite support, mobility concerns, how to monitor your pet's progress, and any other concerns you may have will all be addressed. Unlimited follow up phone and email consultations for 30 days after your pet's appointment are included, as well as a discounted rate for any follow up hospice visits that may be needed after the first appointment.
Quality of life assessments are a useful tool when deciding when is the right time to help our pets pass with dignity. It can be especially hard to appreciate slow, subtle changes that may indicate that our pet's pain or distress is increasing when we see them every day. Dr. Beckett will evaluate your pet with fresh eyes and offer expert outside guidance to help you make the decision that is right for your pet.
The angel visit service provides aftercare if your pet passes away naturally and you choose to have them cremated. Dr. Beckett will travel to you and handle the transportation and all arrangements for either private or communal cremation. You can rest assured that your pet will be handled with respect and tenderness for their final journey.
Comforting Hands Vet offers two types of cremation for your treasured pet.
If you choose communal cremation your pet will be cremated with other pets and the ashes will be incoporated into a concrete sphere that is then place on the ocean floor to help replenish the coral reefs.
Private cremation is just what it sounds like. Your pet will be cremated individually and their ashes (and only their ashes) will be returned to you in an urn. There are several complimentary urns to choose from which are included at no extra cost, or you can choose from a variety of specialty urns offered by our cremation service partner.
