Welcome to Columbus City Schools! We are excited to have you as a new member of our professional staff.

New Educator Orientation (NEO) will be held August 8, 2022 – August 12, 2022. Monday and Wednesday will be at Africentric Early College High School. Tuesday will be virtual. Additional information shared by Curriculum and Departments about the schedules for Thursday and Friday will be added here as well.

Your schedule will vary based on your role, grade level and content area. Please see the Agendas tab for more details about your schedule.

• The majority of new teachers and employees will have sessions scheduled on Monday, August 8^th – Wednesday, August 10^th with the agenda beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding no later than 3:30 p.m.

• Grades 6-12 classroom teachers who teach math, English Language Arts, science and/or social studies (including ESL and special education teachers) will also have sessions scheduled for Thursday, August 11^th and Friday, August 12^th.

• Grades PK-5 classroom teachers who teach math, English Language Arts, science and/or social studies (including ESL and special education teachers) will also have sessions scheduled for Thursday, August 11^th and Friday, August 12^th.

• NEW! Unified Arts, World Language Teachers, and Career Tech Teachers will also have sessions scheduled for Thursday, August 11th. Career Tech Teachers will meet in person at Fort Hayes Career Center - Construction Arts and Technology Center - Room 130

Please make note of the following:

• A stipend of $135 per day will be paid. You must attend the entire day to receive the stipend; partial stipends will not be awarded. This compensation is not received at the time of Orientation but is processed afterwards following the Board of Education policies. The total stipend amount will appear on one of your later regular paychecks.

• Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available. Full attendance is required.

• You must sign in and sign out daily (on time) to receive the stipend and CEUs. The attendance forms will be posted or provided at the beginning and end of each day.
