Meet the Team

Mama Smith has been teaching at Africentric since 1996. Her children are legacy students. Mama Smith loves to be involved in the community whether its the after school program, summer school, or volunteering. She loves to spend her time with her granddaughter.

Baba Schuch has been a Kindergarten teacher at Africentric for 8 years. He graduated from the Ohio State University in 2010. When he's not teaching tomorrow's leaders he likes to travel with his family.

Mama Button has been a teacher for 5 years this is her 4th year at Africentric and 3rd year teaching Kindergarten. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2020. In her free time she likes to read and play with her dog Archie.
