Ashley Clemons

I aim to ensure students' basic needs are met in the classroom so that they feel happy, comfortable, safe and welcomed into the classroom. When students' basic needs are met, they can focus on learning and personal development.

I aim to teach students to become confident communicators by giving ample opportunities in small groups for students to share their ideas. I have a student teacher each week who takes on leadership roles and receives opportunities to lead the classroom throughout the day.

I focus on not only their cognitive development but also their emotional and social wellbeing, which is equally necessary for learning to occur. I believe classroom management is essential in the learning process. My first step in classroom management is to make my lessons engaging and motivating. I find this is the best way to minimize disruptions and promote learning.

I believe students who are motivated and inspired will come to school with a positive mindset ready to learn each day.
