Bio

Did you know that Mrs. Grantham is not just an art teacher?

I attended Tabor City schools growing up. I traveled with my family since the age of 14, playing in a gospel band and singing. My family has has 12 songs released nationally to the radio and have been on music charts. I am a singer, songwriter, musician, poet, artist, and Sunday School teacher. I love staying active in my community, and with my church and my family. I am married and have two children. I also have some chickens that I love to raise. The rooster chases me every once in a while.

I am honored to have been teaching art for NC Schools since 2006. I have been teaching for Columbus County schools since January 2008. I love my job. I love this community, and I love just being able to watch all of my art children grow up and do wonderful things with their lives. It makes me proud. Art is my passion, because there are endless possibilities in creating new art projects each year. It brings many smiles to faces of children thought they could not but later realized THEY COULD.

I feel like I was meant to be an art teacher. I taught my first art lesson on my sister's last day of school in Mrs. West's class at Tabor City Primary (Elementary now) in 1982. The lesson is posted below in the video. This is one of my fondest memories.
