Columbia Township, located on the Northwest border of Tuscola County, is blessed with nearly 24,000 acres (38 square miles) of prime agricultural land. The township includes the Village of Unionville and has a population of 1,419 as of the 2010 census.  Columbia Township is a quiet, rural community that is within close proximity to many major cities such as Caro, Bay City, and Saginaw areas.  It falls within the school districts of Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools, Akron-Fairgrove Schools, Cass City Schools, Owendale-Gagetown Schools, and Caro Schools.

The Township of Columbia was organized of December 31, 1855 taking part of Indianfields Township and designating it as Columbia, in honor of Columbia, Pennsylvania, from where many of the early settlers had come.  Upon establishment, it included the settlements of Colling, Ashmore, Colwood, Columbia Corners and Unionville.

The township does not hold specific office hours but can be contacted by phone or email.  Township representatives will respond as promptly as possible to assist you with any needs or concerns.  Click Here to view contact options
