With the win over East Palestine, the Clippers clinched the EOAC title with a perfect 14-0 EOAC record! This is the third year in a row the Clippers have won the league title!
The volleyball team, with the help of CASA hosted their Winning for Winnie Game on September 30. The Clippers posted a 3-0 victory over East Palestine! We raised almost $5,000 to be donated to Winnie's Warriors Foundation. Thank you to everyone that helped make this fundraiser a success!

The Columbiana JV and Varsity teams participated in the Mahoning Valley Volleyball Officials Association Fall Preview on Saturday, August 9, 2025. This is hosted by local officials with all proceeds going to athletic scholarships for local senior volleyball players. Both the JV and Varsity teams played Campbell Memorial in the two sets of the preview.
Our Meet the Team Night on August 11 included scrimmages from all of our teams, a parent/player pepper competition and our annual Varsity vs. Clipper Volleyball Alumni. The alumni had representatives from the classes of 2025, 2023, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2009 and 2004. We loved having our former Clippers back on the court!
The varsity and JV teams traveled to Jackson Milton on July 9 and 10 to play in their summer league.
The varsity team traveled to Westminster College on June 21. The camp was run by Columbiana alumni Coach Tammy Swearingen. The team played numerous tough teams from Pennsylvania and Ohio and finished 2nd overall for the day!
Our JV and Varsity teams participated in the Campbell Summer League on June 16, 17, and 18. Both teams played well against tough competition all three days! The varsity finished 5th overall out of 16 teams!

Libero Ava Heinrich earned a Division 5 All-Ohio 2nd Team award from the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
Setter Ellie Jackson earned a Division 5 All-Ohio Honorable Mention award from the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
Ava Heinrich represented Columbiana at the OHSVCA All Star Game at Wooster High School.
Ava Heinrich tied Maryn Hepler for the Serve Receive Percentage for a Season. They both ended with a 95% serve receive percentage for this season. Ava had 351 total receptions, with only 18 reception errors, which would be less than one per match. That gives her 333 good receptions.
Ava Heinrich finished her career with the record of Serve Receive Percentage for a Career. She had a serve receive percentage of 93.3% from 2021-2024. Ava had 1,453 career receptions, with only 97 reception errors. That gives her 1,356 good receptions in four years.
Ava also tied her record from last year of Most Aces in a Season. She finished with 112 Aces. This puts Ava on the OHSAA state record board at #26 for Most Aces in a Season.
Ava also hold the record for Most Aces in a Career. Ava Heinrich finished with 354 career aces and a career serving percentage of 90.4%. This puts her at #6 on the OHSAA state record board for Most Aces in a Career
Finally, Ava also holds the record for Most Service Points in a Career. She finished with 832 career points in her four years as a varsity starter.
Maryn Hepler broke the Reception Percentage for a Season record she tied last year with a 95% serve receive percentage.
The record of 94% was held by Maryn from 2023, Hayley Goist from 2009 and 2010 and Hannah Hum from 2014.
Maryn had 268 total receptions, with only 14 reception errors, which would be less than one per match. That gives her 254 good receptions.
She also ended her career with 948 total receptions.
Ellie Jackson holds the Serving Percentage for a Career record with a 97.1% serving percentage from the 2021-2024 volleyball seasons.
This record was held by Grace Witmer with 3 years of varsity experience with a 96.6%.
Between 2021-2024, Ellie served 1,120 times from the service line. In those 1,120 service attempts, she only missed 32 times. Ellie also earned a total of 179 career aces from the service line.
The 2024 varsity team now holds the following records: Best Regular Season in Program History with a record of 21-1 and Most Wins in a Season in Program History with an overall record of 22-2.
The team also holds the Most Service Aces in a Season OHSAA State Record. This team finished with 375 total aces from all rostered athletes, which puts the 2024 team at #5 on the OHSAA state record board

The volleyball and soccer teams hosted their Winning for Winnie Games on September 23. The Clippers posted a 3-0 victory over Jackson Milton! The soccer and volleyball teams raised over $6,000 to be donated to Winnie's Warriors Foundation. Thank you to everyone that helped make this funraiser a success!

In honor of our Staff Appreciation Game, we honored the memory of our Assistant Athletic Director, Larry Baughman. Coach Baughman was a steadfast supporter of all Columbiana teams, always championing our athletes and fostering a spirit of excellence and unity. His unwavering dedication and passion will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He is greatly missed in the CHS gymnasium.
During our game, we wore black armbands in his honor, a small gesture to show our respect and remembrance. Coach Baughman’s spirit will always be a part of our Clipper community.

The Columbiana JV and Varsity teams played at the Cedar Point Sports Center on Monday, July 15. The Varsity team won their bracket and the JV team came in 2nd overall. The team then spent the next day at the amusement park!
Our JV and Varsity teams participated in the Campbell Summer League on June 17, 18, and 19. The JV team finished 1st place overall, with a record of 8-0 over the three days. The Varsity team also won the tournament, defeating Cardinal Mooney, Austintown Fitch, and South Range on the final night.

The 2023 Varsity Team made Clipper Volleyball History. They now hold the record for Most Wins in a Season (22 wins) and Best Regular Season Record (20 wins and 2 losses)!
Setter Ellie Jackson earned a Division 3 All-Ohio award from the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association. Ellie is the first Clipper to receive this honor since Shayla Ray in 2014.

The Varsity team finished their regular season with a record of 20-2 and 13-1 in EOAC league play. The record of 20 wins is the best record a Clipper Volleyball Team has ever had during the regular season!

The varsity volleyball team defeated Wellsville 3-0 on Tuesday, September 12. This win broke Wellsville's EOAC win streak of 76 straight league matches. The last time the Clippers beat the Tigers was October 8, 2015.
Congratulations to Coach Martin for winning her 100th game as the Clippers head coach! This 3-1 win came against EOAC rival Southern on September 5, 2023.
The Varsity and JV Teams finished the month on a 5 game win streak. Both teams are going into September with a record of 5-0 (4-0) in the EOAC. They defeated Valley Christian, United, Mooney, Leetonia, and East Palestine, a strong start to carry into September.
The Columbiana JV and Varsity teams held a Little Spikers Recognition night on Monday, August 28 at their match against Mooney. It was amazing to have our Little Spikers in the crowd and look forward to having on the volleyball court soon!

The Columbiana Volleyball team spent a day of teambuilding at Youngstown State University's Rec Center.
The varsity team had two great days at the Jackson Milton Team Camp on July 10 and 11.
The varsity team came in 2nd out of 20 teams, losing to Austintown Fitch 21-25, 26-28 in the finals.
The JV team came in 3rd out of 9 teams at the Campbell Summer League.

The volleyball team celebrated their two seniors, Brileigh Kocanjer and Addie Zohnd, on October 4. We are so thankful for the hard work and dedication these two athletes gave to the Columbiana Volleyball Program.
The volleyball team hosted their annual Dig Pink Game on September 27 against Southern Local. The Clippers ended the night with a 5 set victory over the Indians!
The mens' soccer and volleyball teams raised over $6,700 was raised from shirt sales and basket raffles and was donated to Winnie Vollnogle, the daughter of Columbiana's men's soccer team, to help her in her fight against cancer.

Westminster Coach Tammy Swearingen, Columbiana Alumni, held a skills camp on July 6 for our middle and high school players. The girls worked hard all day and we saw a lot of improvement throughout the day!
The Varsity team participated in the Campbell Team Challenge Camp on June 27, 28, and 29. After three long nights of volleyball, the team finished 5th out of 16 teams!

Congratulations to senior Tori Long! She broke two season records during the 2021-2022 season. She currently holds the record for most aces for the season with 103, breaking the record of 101 held by Cassidy Stoddard from 2012. She also broke the record for most service points in a season with 294, breaking the record of 291, also from Cassidy Stoddard in 2012.
Congratulations to Senior Tori Long for hitting this career milestone against Southern Local! Tori is a 4 year varsity letter winner and has played as an outside hitter and defensive specialist since her freshman year.

Some of our varsity girls spent three days at the All American Volleyball Camp with Tai Bierria. She is a former player at University of New Mexico, played overseas in Finland last year, and will be playing in France this year. Everyone worked hard, got a lot of reps on the court, and improved both individually and as a team!
