Academic Challenge Team

The competition sponsored by Eastern Illinois University consists of a 14 student team each participating in two tests chosen by the individual student from the STEM fields of mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, english, engineering graphics. The competitions run in early spring with Regional, Sectional and State competitions finishing just before the end of the school year.

The Columbia High School ACADEMIC CHALLENGE TEAM is for anyone interested in competing and challenging themselves in these highly rigorous competitions. The team meets weekly during the season. At the meetings, students work individually and in small groups to solve problems from archived exams on the various topics offered.
