About The Founder & Instructor
My name is Harlan Lovestone. I am an award winning professional artist and certified art teacher who learned and was mentored under such artists as Alvin Loving, Gilda Snowden and Academy Award Nominated animator Gary Schwartz. I have been successfully working with young people of all ages for over 20 years. I always enjoy sharing my gift of art with young people who are eager to learn. Some of my professional partnerships have included Varsity Tutors, College For Creative Studies, Henry Ford College, The City Of Detroit, Greenville County Schools, The City Of Chattanooga, Electric Power Board of Chattanooga, ArtsBuild, Teeter Pal, Techability, Kiddy School, and The Boys and Girls Club.
What is Color Wheel Learning?
Color Wheel Learning is an educational media company I have recently developed through Artsbuild's Periscope program. Color Wheel is designed to bridge the gap in children's education by combining art with STEM to create STEAM while integrating social-emotional learning. Through a subscription-based platform, we’ll offer a holistic curriculum that engages learners through a library of videos, lessons, songs, games, and workshops tailored to ages 5–14.

Why Color Wheel Learning?
In a future where creativity and technology are merging more and more each day, creativity is a very important skill to have. Art has also been scientifically proven to help kids excel academically, develop problem solving skills, and social emotional learning skills. I created Color Wheel Learning, because I saw a need to pass my knowledge on to future generations, in a way that was not being met in traditional classrooms where curriculums are often outdated and kids are over crowded overcrowded in groups of 30 or more students.
I occasionally offer live remote classes in digital arts and coding for kids ages 7-14. My classes cater to smaller group sizes of no more than 10 students. Due to limited space, I require a free consultation before enrollment to ensure the class is the right fit for each student.

Harlan (founder of Color Wheel Learning) is one of the hardest workers I have ever come across. He is very daring and highly experimental” - Alvin Loving, American Abstract Expressionist Painter (1935-2005)
