As a strategic communications consultant for Metro DEEP, I supported the organization’s rebrand that emphasized their mission to build generational Black wealth through place-based economic development and public-private partnerships. My work included crafting compelling messaging that articulated Metro DEEP’s vision across stakeholder groups, developing strategic content for marketing campaigns and events, and advising on narrative framing to ensure alignment with the lived experiences and aspirations of the communities served. I also played a key role in refining brand language and storytelling tools to better engage funders, policymakers, and local leaders.
With Sisters of Color United for Education (SOCUE), I led strategic communications initiatives designed to amplify the organization’s groundbreaking work at the intersection of justice, cultural healing, and community empowerment. I collaborated directly with SOCUE leadership to develop messaging frameworks that honored ancestral knowledge while engaging modern audiences, and supported campaign strategy across digital, print, and live formats. I spearheaded strategic communications around SOCUE’s high-profile lawsuit against the Holleran Group and Westside Investment Partners, securing local and national media coverage that catalyzed public conversation around systemic racism in land development. I crafted key messaging, press materials, and talking points that empowered SOCUE’s leadership to speak boldly and clearly, ensuring their decades of work received the attention and respect it deserved. Through a trauma-informed and culturally rooted approach, I helped elevate SOCUE’s voice as a vital force for equity in Colorado and beyond.
