About Me:
Growing up in the foothills of Golden, Colorado, Estelle Kennamer discovered her passion for engineering through an extensive foundation in STEM coursework. Now pursuing Biomedical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, she's driven by the potential to create more sustainable and efficient medical devices that can transform patient care.
Her journey into biomedical engineering began well before college, sparked by challenging engineering and mathematics courses that revealed the fascinating intersection of technology and healthcare. This early exposure shaped her vision of using engineering principles to solve real-world medical challenges.
While building her academic foundation, Estelle gained valuable professional experience as a hostess in Golden's restaurant industry. Though different from engineering, this role helped her develop crucial workplace skills—from maintaining calm under pressure to mastering complex organizational systems and building strong interpersonal relationships. These practical skills complement her technical education, creating a well-rounded foundation for her future in biomedical engineering.
When she's not immersed in coursework or professional development, Estelle embraces Colorado's outdoor playground. Whether carving through powder on ski slopes, gliding across mountain lakes on her paddleboard, or hiking trails with her dogs, she finds balance in the natural beauty of her home state.
