We are a dedicated group of Master’s students in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, passionate about designing innovative solutions for real-world problems. As part of our Advanced Product Design course, we are focused on enhancing the safety and comfort of infants during car travel. Our project aims to address the limitations of existing baby car seats by introducing design improvements that prioritize the well-being of both babies and their parents.
Driven by the belief that every child deserves the highest level of safety, we are working to create a product that not only meets but exceeds industry standards for infant car seats. Our diverse backgrounds in engineering, problem-solving, and product design equip us to approach this challenge with fresh perspectives and cutting-edge solutions.
Through this project, we hope to contribute to a safer and more comfortable travel experience for families everywhere.
Het Mistry
Hi, I’m Het Mistry, a Mechanical Engineer currently pursuing my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado - Boulder. I thrive on designing innovative solutions and have a strong foundation in CAD tools like Solidworks and ANSYS, as well as advanced manufacturing techniques.
Throughout my journey, I’ve worked on diverse projects, such as developing a Carbon-Fiber Monocoque Body for energy-efficient vehicles and creating a Railway Track Crack Detection System to improve safety and reliability. I’m particularly interested in merging sustainability with cutting-edge technology to tackle real-world challenges.

Brijesh Laxman
I am Brijesh Laxman, a mechanical engineering graduate currently advancing my expertise with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. My foundational education was completed at KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, where I also gained hands-on project experience. Notably, as a Project Associate, I developed an automated hydraulic system, enhancing my skills in collaboration and project management.
My technical skills have been sharpened through roles such as a Chassis Engineer for Redshift Racing in Baja SAE, where I mastered CAD software and vehicle testing. Further, my work as a Robotic Process Automation Analyst on projects like the Vehicle Accident Alert System allowed me to fine-tune GPS and GSM modules for efficient communication and precise operation.
I hold certifications in SOLIDWORKS and Industrial IoT and Automation, along with advanced knowledge in 3D printing, equipping me to deliver innovative engineering solutions. Driven by a passion for problem-solving and technology, I am committed to contributing significantly to the mechanical engineering field, particularly in enhancing processes and developing new systems.
Sadhvik Reddy Kotha
I am a graduate student currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on mechanical design. My passion lies in solving complex design challenges—it's the creative process and problem-solving aspect that truly excite me. I’ve always been intrigued by the intricacies of product design and the opportunity to bring innovative ideas to life.
I worked as an R&D Associate Engineer at ABB for a year, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in product development. It was during this time that I truly realized my passion for product design and engineering. The experience gave me a deep appreciation for the practical side of mechanical design, while also making me aware of how much more there is to learn in this ever-evolving field. That realization drove me to pursue my master’s degree to expand my skills and knowledge.
I’m someone who thrives in collaborative environments. I enjoy working with others, sharing ideas, and pushing boundaries to create impactful solutions. I bring a hardworking attitude and a strong sense of curiosity to every project I take on. My goal is to continue growing as a design engineer and contribute meaningfully to solving real-world problems through innovative engineering.
