The mission of the JILA Association of Graduate Students (JAGS) is to represent and empower graduate studnets in the JILA community. We support initiatives that uphold the JILA values, and we seek to cultivate an inclusive community where everyone can thrive academically and professionally.
There are currently around 10 JAGS officers (JAG-Offs) who are regular organizing members. All graduate students are automatic JAGS members who can participate as much or as little as you'd like.
JAGS is organized around two pillars: advocacy and community.
The advocacy side seeks to advocate for graduate student well-being in JILA both through short-term mentoring as well as long-term participation in JILA governance.
The community building side hosts professional development workshops and social events to foster connection within JILA.Â
