Undergraduate Research Assistants

Responsibilities for research assistants usually include: designing experiments and materials, conducting experiments, coding data, analyzing data, participating in laboratory discussions, and presenting data at conferences.

We ask for a minimum 12 hr/wk commitment, for at least two semesters. This arrangement allows you and the lab group to benefit from your training and skills. Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors are particularly encouraged to apply. Post-bachelors students are also encouraged to apply.

Undergraduate students can work in the lab in a variety of capacities, including: academic credit (independent study), UROP undergraduate fellowships, senior honors, and volunteer.

The lab has a very good record of helping students reach their post graduation goals, including admission to grad school in Psychology, Law, and Business (e.g., Colorado, Northwestern, NYU, Stanford, Chicago, Virginia).

If you would like to join the lab, please submit:

  1. A cover letter indicating your interests, what kind of research experience you are seeking, what capacity you would like to work in (work study, academic credit, etc.), and when you would be available to start.
  2. Your resume
  3. Your transcript (unofficial transcripts OK). RAs typically have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
  4. Two or three names of reference (professors, bosses, TAs, etc.)

Send this information to: leaflab@colorado.edu

If you are a first-year student, you can send just the cover letter, and include a description of your relevant experience.
