My name is Claire Fagan, and I am a mixed-media artist. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in Media Production, with a minor in Media Studies. My academic and creative journey has been shaped by a deep curiosity for the arts, fashion, media, photography, and digital design. I am passionate about blending traditional and digital mediums to create dynamic, expressive work that challenges boundaries and sparks new perspectives.
My artistic practice is rooted in experimentation. My medium of choice is definitely photography. My creativity is sparked most when I start with a photo and build on it using other methods, experimenting and creating as I go. I work across many channels like acrylic paint, watercolor, ink, Adobe Creative Suite, video, and always photography, often combining multiple mediums to explore abstract and unconventional approaches. I am particularly drawn to abstract and experimental narratives in video and photo because it allows me to push the limits of visual storytelling. When creating, I often find myself exploring themes of femininity, nostalgia, humanity, and the abstract.
Collaboration also inspires me; I love creating with friends, whether through videos, photography, or mixed-media projects. These experiences fuel my desire to keep expanding into new ideas and mediums, exploring techniques, and constructing diverse forms of expression. Looking ahead, I plan to continue integrating explorative themes into my work while also seeking new creative directions that encourage growth in both media production and artistic expression!
