Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. We are so excited to have you join us for our 2025 Post Admit event and we hope this event provides you with the information you need to make your decision.
We are one of the largest departments on campus with 86 faculty, 36 staff, and 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students. Our department invests in creating an open, welcoming, and inclusive culture and we view our graduate students as fundamental to making that happen. Not only do graduate students perform cutting-edge research with our faculty but they help with our education mission by serving in a variety of course support roles that help us to create a supportive learning environment for all who take our courses.
We have a well-organized and active graduate student association that gathers input from students and then meets with department leadership, faculty, and staff to advocate for graduate student interests. We have a community that cares about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and holds important conversations about how these issues intersect with department culture, programs, and policies. We continue to recruit new faculty and actively involve our graduate students in that process, so that they have input on the future research directions of the department.
With that, we thank you once again for your interest in our program and we hope that you will join us next Fall.
--Ken Anderson, Professor and Chair
Welcome to Boulder!
The Computer Science Graduate Student Association (CSGSA) exists to support our fellow graduate students. One of our goals is to facilitate community within the department. While community happens organically in classes and research groups, it is fun and rewarding to mingle with students within the department, but outside of our daily routine. Some personal highlights of mine include the weekly department Tea Time on Fridays and seasonal events such as Friendsgiving.
The events we plan would not be possible without student volunteers, and it is a joy to be in a department with students who are willing and eager to lend a hand. I hope during the Post Admit event you take the opportunity to meet and get to know a few of the student volunteers. CSGSA welcomes all CS graduate students into our community, and we hope you enjoy your experience learning about CU Boulder!

At the Computer Science Graduate Professional Development Club (CS-GPDC), we focus on helping graduate students in developing the skills they need to succeed in both industry and academia. Our events range from mock interviews, resume reviews, coding and networking sessions, research talks and seminars with industry experts. These activities are designed to give you useful insights, improve your skills, and help you make connections that can benefit your career.
During the Post Admit event, be sure to connect with us and our current students. We're excited to welcome and we hope you enjoy getting to know CU Boulder!
