Dr. Jun Ye

TITLE: Life as a CU Student & Researcher — A Journey for Precision Physics

ABSTRACT: My education at CU and collaboration with local faculty and worldwide scientists have inspired passion and provided ideas for a long journey of precision measurement and quantum science.

ABOUT: Dr. Jun Ye is a NIST Fellow, JILA Fellow, and Professor of Physics Adjoint at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research is primarily in atomic, molecular, and optical physics, with an emphasis on precision measurements and ultracold atoms and molecules. Dr. Ye has received many prestigious awards for his research, most notably the 2022 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, the 2021 Niels Bohr Institute Medal of Honor, the U.S. Presidential Rank Award, and five Department of Commerce Gold Medals (2001, 2011, 2014, 2019, 2022). Dr. Ye was elected as a member of the National Academy of Sciences, as a Fellow of both the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America, and as a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
