An immersive, college preparatory summer experience on NAU’s Flagstaff Mountain Campus for rising juniors from each of College Track’s 12 centers nationwide.
Scholars have the opportunity to live on campus to preview college life, engage in rich learning experiences, connect with peers from across the country, and solidify their college-going aspirations—all in one of the most beautiful college towns in the nation.
Builds on the foundation College Track establishes early in high school and position students to succeed as they finish high school and prepare for college by equipping them with valuable skills, helping them make informed choices, and ensuring that their plans for postsecondary attainment become a reality.
Key programmatic milestone marking the transition from the Pre-College Phase (9th & 10th) to the College-Going Phase (11th & 12th)
Semester Zero—the signature College Track experience for rising 11th graders—will take its first class to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ for a week of community building, academic exploration, and a sneak peek into college life. Hear what CT scholars Johnny and Mikayla (Mimi) are most excited about this Summer.
The successful completion of Semester Zero in Flagstaff, Arizona, stands as a testament to our collective dedication, resilience, and commitment to delivering our 10-year integrated promise to our scholars. Semester Zero was designed to mimic a student’s experience in their first year in college on a very small scale. The challenges and the excitement that scholars experienced were the same that they will experience in their first week of college—missing home, loving or hating roommates, getting used to food at the dining hall, and more. Throughout these moments of discomfort and joy—it was all part of what we wanted our scholars to experience, by design.
Phase Vision: During the College Going phase, Scholars refine their dreams and passions,
and practice skills needed to:
● Choose a college equipped to meet their academic, social, emotional, and financial needs
● Explore exciting majors and careers and prepare for excelling in professional environments
● Activate their agency to navigate systemic barriers and thrive in college
● Feel emotionally equipped to earn a bachelor's degree aligned with their passions

College Completion supports and works with students to support them in identifying their best fit college, college major, and the support and resources needed to complete the college journey.
