Immigrants Rising provides resources and support for undocumented young people pursuing education, careers, and building a brighter future for themselves and their community.
Jaicel grew up as the eldest daughter in her immigrant family. Her experiences as one of the few first-generation Latina students at her college sparked her passion for ensuring that a college education is accessible to students from all cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
She's worked at a handful of college access programs that prepare students with knowledge and resources to own their college application journey.
Jaicel is a lover of arts and culture. After graduating, she spent a year living in Mexico City teaching middle school students (Pictured left: Pyramid of the Moon). In her free time, find her researching the influence of the stars on our lives, cooking a vegan meal or picking up a new quarantine hobby.
