Welcome remarks from the Harvard Global Health Institute from Christy Colburn, Associate Director, Global Health & Health Policy Undergraduate Program, Narratives for Change founders, and speakers.

Plenary Speakers and Performances - 9:30-11:30

Six of our speakers will give 10-15 minute introductions about how they view the relationship between their art form and social impact.

  1. Jeffrey Sparr will accompany Seema Kumar of Johnson & Johnson in describing visual art’s central role in many pursuits.
  2. Through Positive Eyes will present a photo essay of living with HIV/AIDS.
  3. Avanti Nagral will share her personal take on the importance of music in storytelling in social impact and perform a song.
  4. Tarik Mohamed will discuss how immersive media, including augmented and virtual reality, can be leveraged for social impact.
  5. Bobby Gordon of UCLA’s Sex Squad will conduct an interactive sexual health education session.
  6. Lisa Russell will discuss her experience using film as a means for social impact and screen a short clip from her Emmy-winning documentary.
