Claire, Kieron, Shannon and Heather would like to introduce you
to The Allotment@Collearn.
Since arriving in the bonnie village of Burrelton in 2019, the baby of the family Heather, was quick to set up a stall and sell her freshly laid free range eggs, gifted by her growing flock of hens! This year we have decided to bang our heads together and we would like to provide the good people of Burrelton, and surrounding areas with some freshly grown seasonal fruit and vegetables, homemade soups, breads, cakes, jams, chutneys and of course fresh eggs.
During the lockdown of 2020, we were bitten by the “gardening bug” and started growing our own fruit and veg. After selling to friends and family, and few locals, we found we were left with a lot of surplus stock. The chickens were already getting lots of fruit and veg from our garden, so this year we have decided to open up our produce to the local community.
All our proceeds go back into the allotment, and also the chickens – we are always looking for more ways to improve their home! After all, they are working just as hard as we are!
