The COVID-19 pandemic caused CMCSD students to miss out on essential learning at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
This site acts as a planning guide for the 2020-2021 school year so students, families, and staff can safely and effectively transition between distance and on-site learning.
The guidance in this document is intended to mitigate, not eliminate, risk.
In June, the CMCSD Board of Directors approved our Return to Learn plan. Since that time, there have been many notable adjustments to health recommendations, Governor proclamations, and Iowa Department of Education guidelines. At a special board meeting July 30, the CMCSD Board of Directors approved adjustments to our Return to Learn Plan. The Board and district continue to be committed to our families, students, and staff to create a safe learning environment while also continuing to maximize learning opportunities for all of our students.
CMCSD learning mode will be based on Jasper County Public Health percent positive in last 14 days:
< 15% individuals positive in county → ON SITE
15%-20% individuals positive in county→ HYBRID for 2 weeks and reassess
> 20% individuals positive in county → REQUEST ALL DISTANCE LEARNING
I am confident our Colfax-Mingo community will come together to support our students and continue to model our Tigerhawk family approach.
