Murder at Blue Hill Restaurant

Everything began at the night of the opening of a restaurant in the city of Los Angeles. Its name was Blue Hill. a lot of important names were going to be there, including a politician everyone knew. His name was George Miller and everyone had something against him. It didn’t matter if the reasons were social or political; no one actually liked him.

The party was really luxurious, as expected. It was a 5 star restaurant, after all. A lot of crystals and expensive furniture. Everything was perfect, until a scream was heard. It was from a girl that found the politician's body in the women’s bathroom.

Her name was Sophie. She was in a total shock, so she wouldn't answer anything people were asking her. The people at the restaurant decided to call the police and a detective. The owner of the place called an old friend, Sherlock Holmes. The famous detective went there with Watson, who was his partner. He was wearing a long black coat and a deerstalker. He was smoking from a pipe. He entered the place and announced:

“My name is Sherlock Holmes. I am a detective in this city and I am afraid there is a murderer among us today”.

He came closer to Sophie and whispered:

“Hello. I have some questions to ask you”.

During the interrogation, the girl didn't say much. Sherlock suspected that she was faking the trauma since she had no emotions, but he had no evidence about that. The man decided to check the crime scene - the women’s bathroom. When they entered there, they could immediately sense the terrible smell of vomit that had infested the place. The body was on the floor with no signs of any harm or strangulation. Everything pointed out that he had been poisoned: the vomit and the lack of any wounds. He could have been drunk,, but the politician wasn’t known to be a heavy drinker.

The only thing that he could ask himself was: “Who did this?”. If he had indeed been poisoned, many people could have done it. For example, the barman, or the guy that had bought him a drink.

Sherlock asked the owner of the place who the barman was. He discovered that the man’s name was Richard. He asked Richard the same questions he had asked Sophie, but he seemed not to know anything. The detective suspected him at first, but then he ignored that fact.

While he was interrogating other suspects, a man in a black suit and a hat came to talk with Sherlock. His name was Matt Jonhson, and he said:

“Hello, my name is Matt and I am trying to help you here. I think the barman looks very suspicious. His name is Richard”.

“Yes, I know that”, said Sherlock with no surprise.

“I am warning you, that man is lying. He murdered the politician”.

“I don’t believe you”.

While Sherlock walked away, Matt was planning how he could prove that Richard was the murderer. He decided to check the place where the barman prepared his drinks, the bar counter. There were some exotic drinks, some of which he didn’t even know the name. But one of them he knew perfectly: a bottle of tetrodotoxin, a powerful poison that could easily kill a human. It was hidden behind some bottles of whiskey on the back of the shelf. Matt was horrified with that discovery. He quickly went to confront Richard. He cornered the barman in a food pantry and showed him the evidence.

While that was happening, Sherlock had no idea of who could have killed George. He was lost. Watson was trying to convince him that he died because he drank too much, but he knew this wasn’t the truth. Suddenly, they heard a scream. They rushed to help the person but they only found the body of Matt with his throat slit on the food pantry and Richard pointing at the bodyguard and saying:

“He killed him!!!, He killed him!!!”

“Impossible!”, said a woman in the middle of the crowd. ”He was with me this whole time!”.

The woman’s name was Sabrina. She was really angry because of the fake accusation. She truly was with William, and everyone knew that. Sherlock was sure that Richard was lying. Now he was a suspect too.

People started to accuse each other when suddenly Watson picked up a little bottle from the ground. It was poison. Sherlock started thinking. They were at the food pantry. That’s the place where all the food and drinks stay. The poison was liquid. It could be easily put in a glass of any drink. The barman was accusing innocent people. He had the answers.

“Richard you are under arrest”, said the detective

“It wasn’t me!”

“Yes, it was”.

After the discussion, the owner of the place called the authorities, Richard was the murderer.

After further investigation it was discovered that the barman was the infamous “Lambeth Poisoner”, a famous serial killer that had killed 37 people. And now he was finally brought to justice.
