Willian McJack was an athlete from Boston. He was 24 and he would have a competition next week. He went to New York to this competition, but he was cheating, because the anti-doping test localized cocaine on his blood. Willian already had problems with drugs, once he was with a friend and professional athlete Carl when he died from an overdose. He also lost his adopted daughter guard because once he was high, so he beat his daughter. The international sports justice decided that he will never run in a professional race again.

One day, Dave Tyler, a citizen from Chicago was passing by the Brooklyn bridge and saw something different under that. It was a young man with sports suits, Willian MacJack. He was dead under the bridge. Dave called the intelligence force of New York police to investigate the case, but they couldn't discover if it was suicide or an murder, so they called two detectives from England to help to solve the case.

These detectives were João Farto who was a secret agent who worked to catch the most difficult criminals in the world. Joao was fed up with his family but he never spoke about them because of their safety. His assistant, Jenny Thompson, was from Liverpool and her wish was to travel around the world.

They started investigating the case. First they went to the bridge, where the body was. Both analysed it. There weren't any bullet our knife marks, so they decided to interrogate his close family, but they discovered that his only family was his adopted daughter that he lost the guard. His parents died, his brother went to the Vietnam war on his place and died, because he thought he wouldn't pass the world race test, so he joined the army, because he was drunk. He passed, so he asked his brother to go on his place, he did it. His only friend died from an overdose with him.

Willian McJack's past was very sad because his parents put out cigarettes on him and used to beat him frequently, so when his parents died in a car accident he threw a party. He didn't have anyone except for his brother in his childhood. Willian was thinking about suicide, so his brother recomended run, so he started it.

The detectives discovered an recorded interview with him. In the interview he says that he ran because that was the only thing that ever made sense, and in all his life he just runned from his problems, and he also said that people are going to try to hold you, but you need to keep running. After discovering that, João and Jenny went to talk to the international sports justice. The justice said that some weeks ago, they forbade him to run in any professional race because they found cocaine on his blood on the anti-doping test.

The detectives decided to check out if the body had any signal of alcohol or drugs, and they found out that he was drunk, but analyzing the body they discovered fingerprints on the back of his clothes, that could be the prove that they need to find out if he was murdered or commit suicide, so Jenny was putting the fingprints on the detector and while she was wating for the result of the fingprints João Farto went to Williams hotel in New York, Farto discovered an suicide letter.

Farto was going to the Police Department to tell Jenny he solved the case, but Jenny found out that the fingerprints were from Dave Tyler. She checked out if he said he touched the body, but in the report he said to the cops that in the first arrived in the place that he saw the body from the margin and he was dry, so he didn't swam to get in contact with the body, so he had contact with him before he died.

Jenny was suspecting he did it, so she went to his documents at the police. She find out that he has mental disorders as superhero syndrome, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, Jenny had shure that he killed him, some minutes later Dave arrived in the room asking if he could have information about the investigation. In the room behind João was analyzing the writing to find out if that letter was real, but Jenny started screaming, when João and the writing expert arrived in the room Jenny was with a gun in Dave's head so they started to discuss, João said the suicide letter that was found in Willians hotel was real, Jenny lost all her color, thinking that she almost killed an innocent, and a poor and sick man, but she turned out to think and try to imagine what really happened, so she said she had the answer.

She took Dave to the interrogation room, he didn't say a single word. While João was asking what happened, Jenny answered “you will see”. The detectives handcuffed him so she started to say that he had mental disorders and that he was in New York to treat his disorders, but he didn't went to any medical appointments. Jenny presumed “he listened everyone saying that William was the most terrible person that ever lived, and everybody was hating him, and Dave has superhero syndrome, so when he saw William at the bridge he pushed him because this was the thing that would make everyone happy”.

Dave interrupted her speech saying that he was a hero, and she answered that he was an villan, when she said this he broke his own wrist to escape from the handcuff, and attack her, but João took him down and grab a stapler and staples his hands to his face, so he started to laugh, Joao started to curse him, that Dave started to sing an Foo Fighters song: “What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretender, what if I say that I'll never surrender? I'm the voice inside your head you refuse to hear I'm the face that you have to face. Mirrored in your stare I'm what's left, I'm what's right I'm the enemy I'm the hand that will take you down, bring you to your knees, so who are you?” after he said, João shot him in the knee and asked if he faked an suicide for that, but Jenny said that Willian actually was going to kill himself, but when he was going to jump, Dave saw him, and couldn't resist the temptation to become an hero.

Dave was sent to a hospice, and after that, he never stopped saying he was a hero. Farto got accused of political violence by the writing exepert, and the police department promised Jenny that if she tell the court that her partner abuse of police power she would become police commissioner of New York, otherwise she would get accused by the court as accomplice, so she did what the court asked she to do, João is banned forever from police, and Jenny became police commissioner.
