4th MEETING: MUSIC AND EMOTION (online)
The final online meeting of primary school students in the Erasmus+ program took place on February 24, 25, and 26, 2025, together with schools in Greece and Turkey. The three sessions discussed the influence music has on emotions and brain chemistry, the importance of improvisation and creation, and emphasized the sense of belonging. As always, a very rewarding experience.
1st day : Music and emotions
In a short performance I’ll try to explain to our students that music, harmony and rhythm affects our emotions.
So we can use this affection to provoke specific feelings in advertisements and movies.
Each country should choose an advertisement or a short video as an example how music reflects feelings!
I’ll use an example of a Greek toy factory advertisement about Christmas thar are …close (final countdown ).
2nd day: Music improvisation
As we all know, our students are not music virtuosi so as to expect them to improvise so easily.
I suggest to introduce them the music “phenomenon” Bobby Mac Ferrin and his improvisation with voice and rhythm.

After few examples in the class , students may try to improvise using the song “DON’T WORRY BE HAPPY”

3d day : We have to cooperate to make a song that reflects a feeling or an emotion. As the time we have to do something like that its too short , during the third day, I propose that we should write a song and teach it to our students so that we can sing it together that day.
Our students had already write a draft:
