Saint Patrick
Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. A long, long time ago, he helped bring the Christian religion to the people of Ireland. He is very famous and loved in that country!
People say that Saint Patrick used a little green plant called a shamrock to explain the idea of God. That's why we see so many shamrocks on Saint Patrick's Day!
Every year, on March 17, people celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day by wearing green clothes, having parades, and enjoying music and dancing. Some rivers and fountains are even colored green for the day!
