Pollination and parts of the flower

Parts of the flower

The flower is the reproductive part of the plant.

It makes seeds to produce new plants.

A flower has three (3) parts:

    • Petals.
    • Stamen,
    • Pistil.

Most of the plants reproduce through seeds.

POLLINATION

  • Flowers use pollen to make seeds. This process is called POLLINATION.
  • Pollen is a fine powder. It is usually yellow or orange. Pollen is in the STAMENS.
  • The PISTIL make seeds with the pollen.
  • Bees, butterflies, birds, insects and the wind move the pollen from the stamens to the pistil.
  • Then, the flower turns into fruit.
