Professional Profile
I am proud to be entering my 28th year at Colcord Public Schools (CPS). I currently serve as the District Superintendent, a role I have held for the past 11 years.
Previous Experience
I began my career at Colcord Public Schools in the fall of 1998. During my tenure, I gained diverse experience teaching:
High School Science
Middle-Level Science
Driver Education
In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I served as the Varsity Head Football Coach from 2001 to 2011.
Educational Experience
My academic journey has provided a strong foundation for my career in education:
High School Diploma: Graduated from Colcord High School in 1992.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.): Earned a degree in Science Education from Northeastern State University in 1997.
Master of Arts (M.Ed.): Completed a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University of Phoenix, Arizona, in 2007.
Family Information
When I'm not focused on the district, I enjoy time with my family. I am married to Jera (Nicky) Shelley Simmons. We have two wonderful daughters, Abby and Jenna. Abby is married to our son-in-law, Mr. Jager Pifer, and together they have given us our grandson, Colson.
