About Me
Welcome! I'm Mrs. Farris, and I'm excited to begin another year of learning together. This is my third year of teaching, and I truly believe that becoming an educator is my calling. Every day, I have the privilege of helping students discover how exciting science can be, and I consider that an incredible blessing.
I believe the best learning happens when students are actively engaged, asking questions, solving problems, and thinking like scientists. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels challenged, supported, and confident enough to take risks in their learning. I hope my students leave my classroom not only with a stronger understanding of science, but also with curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Science Education because I believe that great teachers never stop learning. I enjoy attending professional development opportunities whenever I can, always looking for new ideas and strategies to bring back to my classroom. I am also proud to be recognized as a Silver Distinguished Educator through the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance, an honor that reflects my commitment to STEM education and continuous professional growth.
When I'm not at school, you'll most likely find me spending time with my family. I am a wife to the most amazing man, Matthew, and a proud mom of two perfect girls, Avonlea and Irelia. They keep life full of laughter and adventure! I also enjoy reading, sewing, working out, and tackling creative projects. These hobbies remind me that learning doesn't stop when the school day ends, and I love sharing that mindset with my students.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with curiosity, growth, and discovery!
