What do we do in this class?
7th & 8th Grade English/Writing
We focus on two different topics via Oklahoma State Standards: English and Writing
With English, we will focus on repetition and practice of basic grammar (parts of speech, sentences, punctuation, etc.) to improve our mastery of the English language. We will also focus on spelling as well. This will not only help our academic journey, but also our work and personal lives in the future. English can be tedious and usually isn't anyone's favorite subject, but we will work hard at it!
With Writing, we will focus on finding our inner voice and writing from our heart. I believe everyone can write.. and we will improve on our writing. This will not only help our academic journey, but also our work and personal lives in the future. Learning to communicate effectively is so important, and writing is one of the best ways to do so.
MS Computer Science
We will comply to Oklahoma State Standards for computer science. We will dive into computing, coding, and more. This is a great beginning class for students wanting to learn more about this area! We will work through different Units and Projects together.
We will also have fun in class, and focus on learning. If you have any questions at all, let me know. I am in the student's corner and I believe in them.

Who am I?
Christian Carey OR "Mr./Coach Chris"
This is my second year at Colcord; first at the Middle School. I teach 7th & 8th Grade English/Writing, as well as MS Computer Science. I also Coach MS Sports.
I am married to my best friend, Danielle, and we have been married 19 years. I have 3 children as well.
My hobbies include Hunting, Golf, Sports, and Fishing. I also love to smoke meats and grill/cook. Roll Tide!

-associates degree in General Education from Oklahoma City Community College 2015
-minor's in Theology/Intercultural Studies from Randall University 2017
-bachelor's degree in English Education from Northeastern State University 2019
-have served as a Lead Pastor & Youth Pastor before becoming a full-time teacher
