Tashina Weaver,   Cultural Assistant

My name is Tashina Weaver and I am the Cherokee Push In Program Assistant at Colcord Elementary.  I have been employed in education for 13 years and I have been the Cherokee Assistant at Colcord for the last three.   I am a Colcord Graduate and it is a blessing to be able to raise my kids in this community and give back to the place that helped mold me!

Over the years I have become passionate about Cherokee language and culture.   I enjoy sharing that love with our students at Colcord through storytelling, crafts, and history.  While I do love what I teach, I also love who I teach.  I believe working at  a school is about so much more than educating students, its also about connecting and loving kids, giving each one of them the tools needed to be successful.

My Husband, Nicholas and I have been married for 15 years and we have two and a half kids, Raegan, Price and my Neice LJaye. I really enjoy watching my husband coach and my kids play ball.  I also enjoy fishing, being creative, Branson and a good flea market!
