The Colcord Hornet family welcomed me to their staff in August 1998 as a business education teacher at Colcord High School. During my tenure with Colcord Public School, I have served students in grades K-12.
The 2017-2018 academic year began a new teaching adventure with Colcord School when I accepted the position of Elementary Reading Specialist and Title I Reading Interventionist.
The journey with Colcord Public Schools has been an exciting one. Prior to the move to the elementary campus as Reading Specialist, I held the following teaching assignments:

My husband, Steve, and I reside in Colcord. Although I am a transplant to Colcord, Hornet roots run deep in our family. Our family is a proud 3-generations of Colcord High School graduates: Beryl (Spencer) VanDyke (mother-in-law), Steve Ellis (husband), sons, Anthony Swaim (2002) and Stephen Swaim (2003); daughters, Stephanie Swaim (2004), Summer Swaim (2010) and Brittany Mayberry (2012), and 4th generation currently attending Colcord Schools.

Steve and I married in 2007 and joined families for a total of 6 children. Since our marriage, our family has grown and now includes 12 grandchildren, who put the "GRAND" in the best title one can hold, that of being a grandparent--PaPa and Grandma.
