Hello there! My name is Mrs. Slomski, and I am so excited you are here. As a graduate from the University of Connecticut's Early Childhood Education Program, teaching little humans has always been a passion of mine. I teach a wide range of child development courses at Bacon Academy, one of which being this integrated fieldwork experience for students at Bacon Academy to become preschool teachers! Curriculum Specialist - Elina Tsakiris

Hi! My name is Miss Elina! I am the curriculum and behavioral specialist for this preschool year. I am 17 years old and a senior at Bacon Academy. I have been in Mrs.Slomski’s class all 4 years of high school! I have took early childhood, middle childhood, and preschool, and will continue on managing this school year. My position this year is to teach about the CTELDS, lesson planning, & help with managing behaviors! This class is such a joy and I can’t wait to meet all of you and work with the students to make this a great preschool year. Family Liaison - Alexa Smith

Hello everyone! My name is Miss Alexa, I am a senior at Bacon Academy, and I am 17 years old. I took the preschool class last year, in addition to Early Childhood in a previous school year. Beyond the classroom I also have experience with babysiting my two younger sibling along with my cousins, I worked at a baseball camp over the summer aswell where I encouraged children ages 4-6 to participate and enjoy the sport. I have loved this line of work so much that I am back as a manager this year! My role this year is the Family Liasion. I do all of the registration work, take photos of the preschoolers throughout the year, send out any information and updates to parents and families, and work on parent-teacher conferences! This past year, I have absolutely loved getting to meet the preschoolers, watching their personalities emerge, and talk to their families as well! Event Coordinator - Addison Daniels

Hi everyone! I'm Miss Addi, and I'm a 15-year-old junior at Bacon Academy. I'm super excited to be returning to our program this year as a Manager! My journey here started with Early Childhood as a freshman, followed by Middle Childhood and Preschool during my sophomore year. Beyond the classroom, I've also gained a lot of experience babysitting, working with children from 3 months to 10 years old. I'm particularly passionate about working with preschool children, it's incredibly rewarding to be part of their learning journey. This year, I'm super excited to plan our gatherings and activities like spirit days throughout the year and events like valintines day and feild day!! I'm really looking forward to a fun year ahead! Observation Specialist - Peyton Mikalonis

Hi! My name is Miss Peyton, I am 17 years old and a senior at Bacon Academy. I have taken Mrs Slomskis classes all four years of highschool. I started with early childhood, then middle childhood, preschool and now I am back as this years observation specialist manager! My position is to instruct and help the teachers with getting proper data, running record observations and filling out report cards for our preschoolers! Miss Abi

Hi, my name is Miss Abi!!! I am 16 years old and a junior at Bacon Academy! As a freshman I took the Early Childhood class then went on to take the Middle Childhood course my sophomore year. I have been babysitting ages 1-7 for a couple of years now, including working in the nursery at my church. While taking Middle Childhood I was able to have the opportunity to work at CES in a first grade classroom. I loved being able to interact and learn along with the kids. One thing I am super excited for is getting to know all of the little ones and being able to grow a connection with them throughout the Preschool experience. I can’t wait to meet them soon!!

Miss Grace

Hi! My name is Miss Grace. I am 16 years old and I am a junior at Bacon Academy high school. For the last three years, I have worked at the Colchester Parks and Recreation summer camp. I completed the CIT training program when I was 14 years old and volunteered as a Junior Counselor when I was 15 with 96 volunteer hours. This past summer, I was a camp counselor for 6 weeks at the summer camp and I worked with kids ages 5-13 and I loved it! I also assist with young dancers at my dance studio with ages from 6-9. Finally, my freshman year, I completed the Early Childhood class taught here at Bacon Academy. This year, I am so excited to have the opportunity to become a teacher and educate the students! I can’t wait to meet the preschoolers this year!

Miss Claire

Hi! My name is Miss Claire! I am 16 years old and a Junior at Bacon Academy. I have taken both Early Childhood and Middle childhood classes taught by Mrs. Slomski. For the past 3 years I have been working at the town camp! I completed the CIT program at 14 and around 170 volunteer hours at the camp when I was 15. I then worked as a camp counselor this past summer at 16 years old. Being a camp counselor has given me experience with children ages 5-13. Additionally I work at a day care in town and gain experience everyday with kids 6 weeks - 10 years old. I am excited to meet the preschoolers this year and help them have a great school year. One thing in particular I am excited about is helping the preschoolers have fun while also learning! I can not wait to have an amazing school year!

Miss Emma

Hi! My name is Miss Emma. I am 15 years old and a junior at Bacon Academy. As a sophomore I took Early Childhood, also over the summer I was a teen leader at a summer camp where I worked with kids from ages 6 years old to 13 years old. I have also babysat kids from the ages 3 to 10. I am so excited to be a teacher at the Beginner Bobcat Preschool this year. I can’t wait to make connections with all the kids and to watch them learn and grow throughout the year!!

Miss Caroline

Hi! My name is Miss Caroline and I am 15, turning 16 years old soon. I am a Sophomore at Bacon Academy! Last year when I was a Freshman, I took Early Childhood class with Mrs. Slomski and I was also a part of a program here at Bacon called Peer Mentor. I volunteered at CES in a kindergarten class to hang out with the kids and help the teacher with any organizing or set up. I babysit for my neighbors, who are ages 7 and 9. I've been doing so since the summer of 2023. This year, I am so beyond excited to have a chance to be a teacher in this program. One thing I am so excited for is getting to know all your amazing kids and grow with them. I look forward to watching their skills improve, watching them learn new things, and make new friends. I can’t wait to meet the preschoolers here!!

Miss Megan

Hi! I’m Miss Megan! I’m 16 years old and I’m a Junior at Bacon Academy! Last year, I took the Early Childhood program and immediately knew I wanted to take the Beginner Bobcat Preschool class. I babysit often: through family, friends, and neighbors. Their ages ranging from 3 to 10 years old! I also got the opportunity to run an afterschool club at Jack Jackter Intermediate School last year, with 11 lovely kids! I’m also in Bacon Academy’s Peer Mentorship program, which allowed me to do the afterschool club, along with many other volunteering opportunities at CES! I cannot wait for the preschoolers to arrive. I’m especially excited to get to know all of the kids and be someone they are excited to learn from as they grow!

Miss Abby

Hello there! My name is Miss Abby. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Bacon Academy. When I was a freshman I took Early Childhood where we learned about all the developmental skills. I had so much fun in that class that I knew I had to take preschool. I'm so incredibly excited to become a teacher in the Beginner Bobcat Preschool. One thing I am extra excited for this year is working with all of the amazing kids. I can’t wait to meet the preschoolers this year!!!

Miss Kayla

Hi! I am Miss Kayla. I am currently 14 but will be 15 during the school program. I am a sophomore at Bacon Academy! Last year, my freshman year, I took Early Childhood with Mrs. Slomski, and was asked to come back as a preschool teacher for this year. I volunteer as an assistant teacher at Studio E Dance & Acro working with kids ages 3-12. I have been volunteering for 4 years. I have been babysitting for 4 years as well. I have babysat for periods as long as 8 hours with the children, their ages being 6 and 11. I also have a 5 year old sister that I babysit a lot. I am most excited to create a safe environment for all of the kids, and to become a teacher that they can rely on and feel safe around. I can’t wait to build a relationship with each and every one of the children!

Miss Kenzie

Hi! My name is Miss Kenzie. I am 16 years old and a junior at Bacon Academy. When I was an underclassman, I took Early and Middle Childhood through Bacon’s FCS program. I also got to complete fieldwork hours working with kids in all grades at Colchester Elementary School. I also coach kids from kindergarten-8th grade in the Colchester Youth Cheer program! I am so excited to meet the preschoolers so I can build connections and form bonds with them this year.

Miss Rylee

Hi there! My name is Miss Rylee. I am turning 17 in December and I'm a junior here at Bacon Academy. I am currently taking the Early Childhood class. However, I have lots of experience with children. I am an assistant teacher at my dance studio with ages 3-9. I also babysit two kids, one is a four year old and the other is a five year old. I am also a part of the Peer Mentor Club at Bacon where I go to CES and JJIS to help with the after school clubs, choir, and more. Over the summer I volunteered at East Hampton's preschool camps and my dance studios summer camps. During the school year, I'm most excited to watch all the students grow as learners. I cannot wait to meet all of you!

Miss Audrey

Hi! My name is Miss Audrey, and I am a 16 year old junior at Bacon Academy. Last year, as a sophomore, I took Early Childhood where I learned about development of all ages from fetal development to preschool! We also were taught how to do a teaching based project properly, and we took a robot baby home! Also, I have been certified in babysitting and CPR multiple times and have had experience babysitting preschoolers and elementary schoolers. This year, I am looking forward to having the privilege of becoming a teacher in BBPS! I am especially excited to watch all of the kiddos grow and make friends! I'm looking forward to meeting all of the preschoolers!

Hello! My name is Miss Talia. I am 16 years old and a senior at Bacon Academy! When I was a junior I took Early Childhood with Mrs. Slomski, I also babysit children ages 3-10, and previously worked at a daycare. I am so excited to become a teacher and meet all of the preschoolers in the Beginner Bobcat Preschool Class. I am particularly excited about teaching the students new things and building connections! I cannot wait to meet you all!

Miss Maeve

Hi!! I'm Miss Maeve! I am a 16 year old junior here at Bacon Academy. When I was a freshman, I took the Early Childhood class. I also took the Middle Childhood class last year as a sophomore. I did my internship in a first grade classroom. I have lots of babysitting experience ranging from ages four-nine. I am a junior staff at New London County 4H. I am so excited to get the chance to be a preschool teacher and I cannot wait for this year.

Miss Maggie

Hello everyone! My name is Miss Maggie. I am turning 16 and a sophomore at Bacon Academy. I have a lot of experience working with children. I'm in the peer mentoring club and last year I went to a second grade classroom every Thursday and on almost every Tuesday I helped third graders in their specials. I have also done camp counseling where I worked with a group of about 15 kindergarteners. On top of this during my freshman year I took Early Childhood here at Bacon. I am very excited to help teach this year in the Beginner Bobcat Preschool. One thing specifically that I am looking forward to is planning fun activities for the children and helping them learn and grow. I am so excited to meet all of our friends this year!

Miss Maddy

Hello, I am Miss Maddy! I am 17 and a Senior here at Bacon Academy. Some experience I have with early childhood is babysitting my one year old cousin as well as a summer soccer camp coaching kids from ages 5-10 years old. One thing I am super excited for this year is to bond with the kids and to make them confident and proud of themselves in every aspect of our preschool. I can’t wait to meet our little learners!

Miss Lily

Hello, my name is Miss Lily. I am a 16 year old junior at Bacon Academy. When I was a Freshman I took Early Childhood and my Sophomore year I was in Middle Childhood. I am CPR trained and also spend my summers being a camp counselor from ages 4-12. I also babysit for many different ages. I am excited to meet the new preschoolers this year and get to know them along with keeping them safe and I am so appreciative to have this chance.

Miss Skylar

Hi! My name is Miss Skylar. I am 17 years old and a senior at Bacon Academy. During the summer of my Sophomore and junior years, I volunteered as a counselor-in-training at YMCA Camp Ingersoll in Portland, CT, 5 days a week. In this program, I worked with children aged 4-10. I also have an older brother with an intellectual disability and take care of him 5-6 hours a week. I plan to major in Special Education in college, and I am so excited to have the chance to be a teacher in the Beginner Bobcat Preschool. I am very excited about family/student events this year and cannot wait to meet the preschoolers!
