Hello! My name is Teresa Billingsley. I have been teaching Business Education for 20 years. I’m very excited and blessed to be teaching at Colbert Heights High School – my humble beginnings. As a teacher, I feel that it is my responsibility to help inspire, lead, and motivate students in a positive mindset. It gives me great pleasure when students realize the importance of setting well-defined SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound) goals for themselves. Setting goals will help assure them career success. It is truly my desire to impact positive ramifications upon my student’s future because they are the future of tomorrow.

Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Univesity of North Alabama (2001)
Associates of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy, Wallace State College
As a Colbert Heights High School alumna, I am privileged to be an educator in the Colbert County Schools System. In 1997, I graduated from Wallace State College with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. After working as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant for 3 years, I decided to further my education at the University of North Alabama. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2001, allowing me to work as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, physicans' offices, and home health. While working in these settings and caring for my patients, I was given the opportunity to network with many extraordinary healthcare professionals that support our program today. I have been the Health Science Program Coordinator and Primary Instructor for the Colbert County Schools Health Science Academy for six years. Our program has had four classes to graduate as Certified Nursing Assistants and one class to graduate as Certified Patient Care Technicians. Most of these students began work immediately following graduation. We have Cherokee High School as well as Colbert County High School Students joining us at Colbert Heights High School to be apart of the Colbert County Schools Health Science Academy. With the shortage of nurses, as well as other healthcare professionals, our school system is doing our part to make sure the future of healthcare looks bright in Colbert County and surrounding areas.
I cannot leave out the two most important roles that I hold, which are wife and mom. I am very blessed to be married to my best friend, James, for 21 years now. He is my rock, my cheerleader, and my biggest fan. We have three beautiful girls that teach me how to be a better teacher and person daily. We love a good road trip, wherever, as long as we are laughing and making memories together. Our family is active in the student ministry at Highland Park Baptist Church, which is also a major part of our lives. Also, our girls would not forgive me if I did not mention our fur babies; our yorkies, Phoebe and Fallon, and our moody cat, Maxwell, which help complete our crazy, yet precious Brumley Bunch.
