In accordance with the U.S. Department of Education, the Colbert County School System allocates funding to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. This funding is referred to Title I Funds.
School-wide programming is available to schools with a student base where at least 40% come from low-income families. Colbert County Schools has an average of 71% low-income families. In School-wide Programs all students within the school benefits from Title I Funds. Title I funding is allocated in the following ways; to reduce class size reduction ratio, instructional materials and supplies, professional development, and parent and family engagement.
