BIO:

Steven Strom graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in Music Education in the fall of 2019. He has worked with over a dozen high school band programs in the tri-state area and has instructed award-winning percussion sections. He is excited to now move into a full-time director position at Cherokee High School and bring over a decade of instructional experience to the program.

He has held leadership positions in his high school band at Alcorn Central, Northeast Mississippi Community College marching band, The University of North Alabama Marching Pride, and the Memphis Grizzlies NBA drumline. At UNA, he was a member of the Percussion Group, World Percussion Ensemble, and was the principal percussionist of the UNA Wind Ensemble. More recently, he has turned his focus to electronics and audio engineering. He was the audio engineer while attending UNA and is now the Sound Team Manager and Sound Designer for the UNA Marching Pride, is the Sound Team Caption Head for the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, and has also worked as a sound engineer for the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. Strom is a also the head sound designer for a custom marching band arrangement company, South Coast Sound & Design.
