SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
The students will organize and create a service project in Religion class with their assigned advisor during the year. The project will be presented during the March 19, 2020 HSA Annual Art & Service Fair in the school.
Each student will also be responsible for earning 10 additional Service Hours for Confirmation (as approved by Mr. Hurtado).
- 1 hour for the Environment
- 4 hours for the Needy
- 2 hours for Religion
- 3 Hours for Bazaar or other
While each student is able to work independently to complete these hours, it's often more fun to volunteer with a few familiar faces. Opportunities where students can work together as a group to earn service hours will be posted below as they become available.
Here is a quick list of some ideas for service hours and we will also send eblasts as other opportunities come available.

Environmental Service Hours Opportunity This Saturday!!
BeachSweep on Daniel Island (counts for environmental Service Hours):
-Sat Sept 21, start 9 am sharp (duration 1-2 hours)
-Children’s Park at End of River Landing Drive on Wando Shore (closest address for GPS: 101 River Landing Drive, Daniel Island, SC 29492).
-Wear nasty clothes (longer sleeves best) and shoes that will stay on in the muck (NO FLIP FLOPS).
-Bring gloves and trash picker if you have them; trash bags provided.
-No need to RSVP or sign up; just show up.
-Drinks and snacks will be provided after the sweep.
-Bring completed service hours form for signature or will have blank ones at the sweep.

Saint John Catholic School is a small inclusive school located near Park Circle in North Charleston (3921 St. John's Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405). Their fall festival is Saturday, November 16th and THEY NEED OUR HELP! Please consider volunteering for one or more of the slots below to help make this event a success. And invite friends and family to come and join in the festival! They will have fun and games from 4-6 pm and a Pig Roast Dinner from 5-7pm.
