School Psychologist

School psychologists are trained to utilize a system-wide approach when assisting students. This means using contextual information from the home setting, teacher feedback, and of course working directly with students to develop the most appropriate and effective way to help students. These strategies include meeting with students individually or in a group, working with teachers to develop alternative teaching and classroom management strategies, and determining whether or not a student may need additional services in order to be successful within the school setting.

Social Workers

Social workers provide individual & group support/intervention to students dealing with a variety of issues including, but not limited to:

Depression

Family Conflict

Anxiety

Drug/Alcohol Concerns

Low Self-Esteem

Academic/Classroom Struggles

Relationship Challenges

Sexual Orientation/Gender Concerns

Finding balance of school, home, and relationships can be stressful for anyone. Social workers can help students develop skills/strategies to better manage stress and other concerns. Social workers can be helpful during crises or other emergencies and work with students' outside supports to achieve a solution in his or her's best interest.
