As I reflect upon my experiences studying education I can always remember the idea that “you need to be one hundred percent passionate about teaching or you cannot teach at all” Being a teacher means to me that you have to provide learning to all different types of students through equal oppertunity. Being flexible and understanding are some of the biggest skills a teacher needs. In highschool I remember being enrolled in a college credited classroom where in the first year I worked in a preschool and the second year I worked in a 4th grade classroom. From this experience I understood the growth and development of children and how important a comfortable environment is. So many children come from so many backgrounds. Unfortunately we as teachers can not control what happens outside a classroom, but we can guide and aid students to the successful lives they deserve. Schools should serve as a second home to the students and my duty as a teacher is to provide that. My philosophy and approach to teaching is due to the experiences I have gone through in highschool and my freshman year of college. As someone who is not an educator it is easy to point fingers and say our jobs are easy, but that is far from the truth.
Being an educator requires you to inspire the youth through creativity, assessment, and important teaching methods such as evaluations. With functions like the internet, I think it is very important to implement technology into a classroom as a learning experience. Due to technological advances many more students have more opportunities through another device of learning. I also believe that students will incorporate the skills they are presented in class to their everyday lives. Life is a process and I will teach my kids how to process and walk them through the educational systems. I believe that making valuable connections with students is such an important role as an educator. Giving feedback is a way to start connections. I will give feedback to my students about how they are performing on an everyday basis. This is to help see students weaknesses and more importantly their strengths so that I can base my teaching off of students learning and thinking.
I believe that being motivated and passionate is very important. Working with children is always a challenge. It is important to give tools that help everyone succeed. Visual, auditory, and hands-on learning will all be incorporated in my classroom to help engage students in learning. Education is not just a talent, it is based on hard work, understanding, and patience. Education is necessary in any society to function stabley. Instilling a love for learning amongst students is always my main goal. I want my students to not only know that learning takes place in a classroom, but outside the classroom. I want to make my students want to learn and be educated powerful people that play a great role in society
