HACKATHON
"The Power of Ideas in Action"
HACKATHON 5.0
Hackathon 5.0 is the fifth edition of our flagship innovation challenge, proudly organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering under the College of Smart Computing. Building on the success of our previous four hackathons, this edition continues our tradition of fostering creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge problem-solving among students.
Hackathon 5.0 serves as a dynamic platform for aspiring tech enthusiasts and problem solvers to bring their innovative ideas to life. The event aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world challenges by encouraging participants to develop impactful solutions using modern technologies.
With a focus on teamwork, rapid prototyping, and innovation-driven thinking, Hackathon 5.0 celebrates the spirit of smart computing and the future of digital transformation. It is more than just a competition—it’s an experience that nurtures skills, sparks creativity, and inspires the next generation of tech leaders.
To take this journey from idea to execution, students form teams and are given a defined timeframe to brainstorm, design, and develop solutions for real-world challenges based on specific problem statements or themes. Once their projects are complete, the teams present their work to a panel of judges. The evaluation is carried out based on several key judging criteria, which include: presentation skills (clarity, structure, and delivery of the idea), innovation skills (uniqueness and creativity in the approach), functionality (working output and usability of the solution), scalability (potential for real-world application and future growth), originality of code (authenticity and technical depth), and team collaboration (coordination, contribution, and teamwork).
Hackathon 5.0 not only challenges students to push their boundaries but also empowers them to transform their ideas into meaningful and scalable tech solutions.
