The project explores the intersection of arts, photography, and fashion. The overall content is the illustration of how flowers are incorporated in fashion works. There are four different ways flowers are being used in fashion, which are conceptualized in the four art boards: flower patterns in prints on garments, flower accessories, flowers used as props for fashion shoots, and flowers used in background for fashion photography. Each art board displays one way flower is being used.
The overall visual content and layout resemble fashion lookbooks with paste-ups of images and models wearing branded clothes or models posting with flowers . The headlines of different concepts are hand-written to elevate visual attractiveness. The names of the designers, photographers, and the fashion collections being featured are included, next to the images of the models or the paste-ups, in handwritten font that is coherent with the title. There is a connection among the artboards with hand-drawn leaf branches. The leaf branches would start from an artboard to continue branch out to the next artboard. It shows movement and transition among artboards and creates a flow and consistency. The hand-written headline, the text, and the hand-drawn leaf branches form a unifying aesthetic look among art boards. The paper textured background was chosen to have scrapbook quality. Pink paint stroke highlights the headline to stand out from the other content in the artboards. The model images have some backshadow effects that enhance value of depth.
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are being used in the making of these pieces. Photoshop is used for layer masking, image cut out, and photo edits. Other hand-drawn and hand-written elements and paint brush uses are created in Illustrator.
