Romeena Kureishy is an Assistant Instructional Professor at the University of Chicago where she teaches Urdu and leads research on AI-integrated Urdu language pedagogy. With over fifteen years of teaching and teacher-training experience across the United States and Pakistan, her work focuses on developing equitable, proficiency-aligned materials for Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTLs). She is currently pursuing an MPhil in Urdu, examining 21st-century pedagogical frameworks and AI’s role in Urdu education. Her broader research explores linguistic equity, digital inclusion, and the representation of under-resourced languages in emerging technologies.
