Deborah Bowers is a Language Analyst and Instructional Technology Specialist retiring from the U.S. Navy after 20 years as a Russian and Arabic language analyst. She combines deep operational experience with a forward-looking approach to language and technology. As a project manager, she has led multilingual teams on annotation projects in nine languages, producing data for speech-to-text, cross-language information retrieval, and multimodal research. With six years of teaching and a strong background in mentoring analysts, Deborah focuses on connecting human expertise with emerging AI capabilities. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of language professionals to thrive at the intersection of linguistics and technology.
