Regional conferences address the individual, yet collective needs of school divisions within a region. The CSforVA conferences provide targeted professional development to educators within a region and provide opportunities to highlight and recognize the expertise of educators within that region.
The conferences will be led by teachers from each region on computer science (CS) topics. In addition, CodeVA will provide support sessions with its own generated curriculum. The conferences will offer opportunities for unconference-style sessions, determined by the interests of participants. The conferences have been scheduled based on dates and locations that meet regional needs. This year marks the beginning of a continued CSforVA partnership with VDOE.
CSforVA regional conferences will be held biennially, coinciding with the years when CSTA's national conference is held in-person. In the years when CSTA is held virtually, CodeVA and VDOE will organize a week-long summit for professional development and conferences.
Audience: Educators from all grade levels and content areas, as well as any staff supporting student learning.
Knowledge Level: These conferences are appropriate for all PK-12 educators, regardless of computer science knowledge or experience.
Cost to Attend: $50, includes lunch and welcome bag
Special Offers: Presenters attend free of charge!
