In this class, we work together to improve our skills, no matter where we start. We believe the word “can’t” is not part of our vocabulary, because we are all capable of more than we think. Our motto is: If you know something today that you didn’t know yesterday, you are on the right track! In this classroom, we also take responsibility for our learning and choices, and we practice self-reflection to help us grow into confident, independent learners.

About Your Teacher
Hello! My name is Rikki Johnson, and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year!
This is my 4th year teaching in Coldspring and my very first year in 5th grade. I have three wonderful boys of my own—Alex (17), Hudson (10), and Evin (9). They are very active in sports, so most days you’ll find me running between practices and games.
Outside of school, I volunteer at our local church on Wednesday nights teaching a group of 4th grade girls. I also love any opportunity to be creative and enjoy curling up with a good book whenever I can.
I am truly looking forward to seeing what this school year holds and all that we will accomplish together. If you ever have any questions or concerns about your student, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I believe in working as a team to support their success.
