Welcome to Kindergarten! here are a few things that we will be learning throughout the year: letter sounds and identification, reading and writing cvc words (ex. cat,hip, run), counting to 100, identify and write numbers to 20, addition and subtraction to 10. We will continuously work on following instructions and how to positively interact with our peers and teachers.

About Your Teacher
Ms.Burns is a dedicated Kindergarten teacher at James Street Elementary. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Sam Houston State University and a Master's degree in business from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She also holds certifications for ESL and the Science of Teaching Reading. Ms.Burns has been teaching Kindergarten at COCISD for 5 years. Her passion lies in fostering a love for learning in her students. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Burns enjoys puzzles, watching sports, and spending time with her family.
