This is the first step in your child's great adventure that we happily call education. In our class we learn all of the things that start the foundation to a successful journey thru school life. With the fundamentals of colors, shapes, letters and numbers to the more unique trials such as coping with newly experienced emotions and problem solving for a more independent student. Whether it be mixing paints with our hands to see what colors we make, to playing fun learning games and songs about numbers. I want everyone to feel happy, welcomed, and eager to learn, including myself.   We teach the students to have confidence in themselves as well as building character to be productive and caring little humans.

Hello! I am Mrs. Nichole Gatewood. I am a mom, wife, and a granny. I love to crochet, garden, and most of all sing. I am a proud Texan! Have called Coldspring home since 2005. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2014.  I have been with JSE going on three years now, as an aide. This being my first year to take the role as teacher; we are going to grow together.

We have four simple rules in Mrs. Gatewood’s class:

1. We listen to our teacher.

2. We play safely.

3. We keep our classroom clean.

4. We are kind to others.

Again I am so excited to be teaching this year and I just KNOW we are going to learn so much that our brains are going to be ENORMOUS come the month of May. Parents, I believe in open communication so please feel free to contact me thru email anytime, I do check it frequently throughout the day. Any concerns or even just “heads up- JJ lost his favorite sock” messages are always welcome.
